Are you interested in becoming a member of POYC ?

Community, Friendship, Volunteerism and Effort make for a greater boating experience.

The Port Orchard Yacht Club is about sharing a common interest in boating and water activities. It much more fun and interesting when you have friends to share your experiences, ask questions to, and share knowledge of boats, waters, techniques, safety, gear, electronics and so on.

POYC offers a beautiful clubhouse and extensive marina with a mix of open, common cover and boathouse slips. POYC has a great history and great future, all in part to how much care and effort members put back into the club.

POYC offers many different events and cruises that the membership can enjoy. We host cruises, races, parties, breakfasts, pot luck and themed dinners.

Join the fun and experiences at Port Orchard Yacht Club.

MOORAGE:

There are three types of moorage at the club.

1) Side tie (finger pier) is $6.492 per linear foot per quarter. This is based on the size of the slip, not the length of the boat. Open slips are up to 72 feet.
2) Boat House slips are billed at $ 0.38 per sq. foot per quarter. Boathouse slips – length 47′, 52′, 60′, 62′, 65′. Width varies.
3) Common Cover slips are billed at $0.668 per square foot per quarter. Common Cover slips  are all 50′ feet long x 16 feet wide, so the quarterly cost is $534.40. Common Cover slips have 22 feet of vertical clearance

Electricity is paid per KWH used. The current rate is $0.12/KWH). Moored members pay a $12 per quarter electricity surcharge.

WORK PARTIES:

For maintenance and recreational support, we are a 100% volunteer club. You must work 8 to 16 hours per year or pay $100 per hour for the hours not worked. If you are moored at the club the requirement is 16 hours a year, 8 hours are required if you are not moored.

KEY RULES:

Moorage is assigned by seniority. Depending on your boat, you can expect to qualify for moorage in about 12 months or less. You can sublet an available space and earn additional seniority credits. There are commercial marinas in the area where you could keep your boat while waiting for club moorage.

SOCIAL EVENTS:

We have many club-sponsored events on and off the water. Participation is encouraged, always enjoyable but not mandatory.
Social events range from weekend excursions to races to crab and steak feeds to formal and informal parties.

RECIPROCAL MOORAGE:
As a member of POYC you will be eligible for reciprocal moorage at most yacht clubs in Puget Sound and British Columbia.
