2025 Alaska 1000 Predicted Navigation Contest Final Report
The final numbers are in:
After 45 days of windy and rainy weather the contestants celebrated the 4th of July and an awards banquet in the quiet waters of Wrangle Island, Alaska. The tired and weathered skippers were treated to a well-deserved Independents parade with all the fixings.
The contest was divided into two halves with the first half ending in Shearwater, British Columbia, Canada.
From POYC contestants Jim and Linda Anderson on “Fidalgo”, finished 3rd O/A and contestants Ed Richards and George on “Magic Carpet” finished 4th O/A.
On the SECOND HALF of the contest, Jim and Linda finished 2nd O/A and Ed Richards and George finished 3rd O/A.
For the OVER-ALL standings things get a little crazy. Ed Richards and George finish 2nd and Jim and Linda are 3rd O/A.
Other Events
POYC will host our annual predicted log rally, THE FALL ROUND-UP, on October 4th. I am looking for half a dozen members to participate as Observers on the contestants boats. Please let me know if you are interested. Work Party hours are given for this event.
If you are game for some competition and general fun with a great group of people, why don’t you give Predicted Log Racing a try. Call either Jim Anderson or myself and we will show you the ropes.
