Purpose: To provide short term, transient moorage at POYC for non-moored POYC members

Non-moored POYC members may moor in vacant slips (other than reciprocal slips) for up to 3 consecutive nights, but no more than 12 total nights per calendar year.

Vacant slips include slips assigned to moored members whose boat is not occupying the slip temporarily, and who agree to allow Guest Moorage.

To obtain Guest Moorage:

  • a non-moored member must contact one of the POYC Reciprocal Hosts (currently Gary Hunter and Carol Nelson) to request Guest Moorage, providing boat dimensions and dates requested. Such request shall be made not more than 7 days nor less than 3 days before the first night requested for Guest Moorage.
  • the Reciprocal Host will work with the Moorage Committee, particularly dock captains, to determine if a vacant slip of the necessary size is available
  • if a slip is available, the Reciprocal Host will advise the non-moored member requester and the slip occupant.
  • compensation for use of shore power will be strictly between the non-moored requester and the slip occupant.
  • non-moored members requesting Guest Moorage are responsible for knowing at the time of their request whether or not they are eligible to use the program, particularly with regard to the limit on number of nights per month and year. The member may contact the Reciprocals Coordinator to verify their status.

The Guest Moorage will be reported to the Reciprocals Coordinator (currently Kathy Psaris) who shall keep a spreadsheet showing which member has used Guest Moorage, on what dates and for how many nights.

Members who violate these rules for Guest Moorage, including occupying a slip without authorization, or exceeding the monthly/yearly limit on the number of nights, will be charged unauthorized moorage for each night of the violation. The Reciprocals Coordinator will report monthly to the Commodore on members who have violated their time limit.
